Everything is assigned to a case number, not based on the production or individual; engineers work only on what the actual data recovery requires; working copies are destroyed when your drive is returned to you. If you prefer handing it over a desk instead of trusting it to a courier, please obtain a quote prior to dropping it off at our Guildford intake lab, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm, no appointment is required.
A drive off the lot has started clicking. What do we do first?
Turn it off and do not switch it back on. Clicking is a mechanical fault, and each time the disk is powered on, the heads travel across the same surfaces again. Recovery software used on a failing disk is most commonly why a standard job becomes difficult. Seal it, contact us for a quote prior to posting and tell us what was on the disk, then post it tracked and insured. A single disk is quoted at £300 + VAT, in writing, before anything is opened.
We are working to a delivery date. Can a job be taken first?
Inform us immediately upon calling that you are working to a delivery date. It will be flagged as such as soon as it arrives; imaging it will occur before all other jobs in line, it will be processed without delay (i.e., the engineer will not put it aside to pick up another job), and it will receive a reasonable turnaround time after the diagnostic process determines exactly what the fault is. Nobody here will promise a result before reading the disk.
