Recover Data From An Acer Laptop

I have lost my Acer Aspire 3000 laptop, which developed a problem with the power supply. I have tried attaching a new cable to the socket, but this has not worked. I was trying to charge up the battery, which seems to have gone flat at the same time. It looks as though it is a big ol’ dead thing though. I am going to replace it with a new one, but I want to get some of the data off of the drive in the laptop. I am not able to fire up the Acer at all, so I can’t run recovery disks or programs. I am not even sure where the data that I want to be taken off is, at the moment. I think it is somewhere in a partition, but I couldn’t say without looking at the drive.

I have an Acer Aspire 5100 laptop which I need help with. The problem is that I seem to have lost some photographs from a web cam cyberlink, which I was keeping because I thought they were good shots of me. They were in a file which was inside the web cam folder, but I recently lost the cam’s drivers, and had to completely reinstall them from a website. This process seemed to create a new folder for the cam. I wanted to transfer all of the data over to the one folder, and I thought this had been successful. However, the next time I tried to open the folder to get the photographs, I found that the files were not there. Not a single thing from the old web cam folder is in the new folder, although I specifically put it in there. I have checked all of the older folders in the area, and I have also run a search for the files on My Computer. The searches have drawn a blank. There is no trash bin on my system, because it became corrupted and was removed.
