Retrieve Data From A Lenovo Desktop PC

LENOVO 3000 J115:

I have a Lenovo 3000 J115 which is suddenly not booting up correctly. It goes a little way into the system, but then freezes up even before it starts the POST. I recently tried to upgrade the memory by adding a bigger RAM stick to the memory. The original RAM was 2x1GB, and I replaced these with 2x2GB instead. I have made sure that the new RAM sticks are seated properly, and it seemed to me that everything is working well, but saw that in the BIOS screen, there was showing only about 3008MB, rather than the 4000mb. I decided to save what I had been working on and exit, and that is when the freezing problems began. I can see the loading bar, and then it just stops completely dead. The video appears to be breaking up on the monitor, with odd flashes of light. I have tried to recover the system using only one stick of RAM, but this didn’t work. I have a lot of data on the computer that I want to recover, and should have saved before I started on this whole journey.

LENOVO 3000 J115:

I am having a problem with a Lenovo J115. The problem might be something to do with the graphics card. Whenever I load up any files or pictures, the monitor starts flickering, almost opening and folding the image like a piece of paper being folded. The problem is that the system is now labelling as invalid the images that I have viewed when this problem occurred. I can see them marked out in the folders as ‘invalid’ or ‘unknown’, and in both cases there is just a sheet of paper showing as the file, not the thumbnail, plus a red cross in the corner of the page. I don’t know what I can do to stop this problem, as I have said it is causing corruption throughout my images, some of which are very valuable to the family and can’t be replaced.
